Dr. James “Manny” Wright is a scholar of education whose work asks how race, culture, and power influence policy and leadership.
His academic background includes Temple University’s College of Education and San Diego State University. His writing draws connections between Black radical thought, critical policy analysis, and decolonial theory.
Through research, books, and conversation, he examines how inequities take shape within schools, and how educators and communities work to change them.
In Heirs of the Great Migration, history and personal inheritance meet. In Critical Ethnic Studies and the Global Pursuit of Justice, his scholarly work considers the movement for ethnic studies and its relationship to educational transformation.
